YIN YOGA

Yin Yoga is a great compliment to an active life style. It focuses on calm, floor based postures that are held over time, and you can allow your body to surrender to gravity. The pace of the class allows space to witness the sensations in the body and the fluctuations of mind, emotion and breath. Physically, yin yoga works on the connective tissue of the body and joint mobility, which results in a more open and available body.
The class is usually focused on a specific area of the body, and also relates to one or several chakras. Through the stillness of the physical body, you have more time to notice the subtle layers of the body; to connect with the breath and your inner landscape.

BACKGROUND

 

 

Maria took a 200h TTC in Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga in Mysore, India, where she studied pranayama and the Primary and Intermediate Series with Rameshji and Praveenji, both students of BNS Iyengar.

She was taught meditation by guru Shri Chandrashekar, and philosophy by Dr. Mallika.

This developed her spiritual, physical and emotional practice, which is an experience she wish to share with her students.

 

Maria recently qualified to teach Yin Yoga, a great compliment to Ashtanga Yoga and a busy lifestyle. Her teachers Jamie Clarce and Dulce Aguilar are both students of Paul and Suzie Grilley.
